Is it true that shaving a baby's head makes the hair grow in thicker?

This practice is routine in some cultures, but it has no effect on how the hair grows in.
Think about it: Hair grows from a follicle beneath the surface of the scalp. What you do to the hair that's on the outside has no effect on the hair that's developing in the follicle.
It's common for babies to lose some or even all of the hair they were born with cordless hair trimmer, usually around 4 months of age. The new 'do might take a while to come in, and when it does it may be thicker or curlier or even a new color. But whether you shave, trim, or brush best hair clippers for kids  strokes a day won't affect how it grows in. That's up to genetics.
Trimming your baby's hair might make it appear thicker, of course, just like yours does when you get a trim. If you do decide to shave your baby's head, be very careful not to nick his scalp, says pediatric dermatologist Michael Smith.
